The action series began in chapter 108, as Jaehwan found himself encircled by a pool of blood. Edan had inflicted psychological harm by exposing him to pictures from his past in his refuge. They were helpless against the Sanctuary, which posed too great a danger for him and Andersen to overcome.
Andersen laid out a plan for him to handle the situation, but he would want a great measure of faith in order to drive the sanctuary away. Jaehwan considered the concept and saw an opportunity to use one of the fundamental aspects. But the pool of blood and bodies underneath it appeared to engulf him.
The trickster flinched in shock and asked Jaehwan how he managed to materialize a blade with Sanctuary-like abilities. Jaehwan chose to charge at the entity instead of explaining the trick behind it. But then Edan made a connection and realized something that Jaehwan and Andersen didn’t expect. He did not resist their advances and eventually gave up.
Concern for Edan is something that Jaehwan and Andersen will face in Chapter 109. We first met Edan as a shy, unconcerned individual whose priorities lay only in pursuing his own hobbies. In spite of his enigmatic personality, he remained near Andersen for a while—500 years ago, to be exact—in his life.
Andersen struggled as a goddess, and those who followed her were social outcasts as well. They were worried about her, but she remained by them through it all, and they were there for her to the very end. Nevertheless, everything changed the day she vanished, leading them to the chaotic predicament they find themselves in today, with Edan acting as the mastermind.
