One of the best anime of this season has finally ended. And it was literally an epic ride. For me, Frieren, Solo Leveling, and Apothecary were the best of the best in this season. In this article, let’s check out The Apothecary Diaries review, recap, and more details.

Maomao was an apothecary who led a tranquil existence. Unless her captors capture her and sell her into slavery at the Royal Palace. The first things they have her do are very low-level jobs. She catches Jinshi’s eye after she assists in solving the mystery of a mysterious ailment. Lady Gyokuyô quickly enlists Maomao as her maid and a food taster. Even though Maomao wants to remain out of the spotlight until her contract ends, she can’t help but poke her head in whenever there’s a fascinating mystery.

Thankfully, TOHO Animation Studio and OLM’s The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 offer plenty of mysteries for the wise apothecary to solve. All the great things about The Apothecary Diaries revolve around Maomao. She’s simply delightful. People would still like an episode if it was just her chatting about her day-to-day existence.

With her lightning-fast mind and explosive temper, Maomao displays an aggressive personality that is both incisive and entertaining. She has no problem standing up for what she believes in and never hesitates to do the right thing. No matter how much she tries to blend in, she always manages to cause trouble. She is charming as a protagonist because of her hesitation. She merely desires to lead a joyful life. But the world is constantly working against her, trying to drag her into its chaos.

Maomao story

It is via Jinshi that most of the riddles that fall upon Maomao’s feet reach her. Although the review of The Apothecary Diaries is vague regarding Jinshi’s identity, he plays a significant role in the palace. He places a premium on making sure everything works as it should. He wastes little time putting Maomao’s sharp intellect to use after he learns of it.

Jinshi keeps Maomao on his toes in the moment-to-moment comedy. Her boldness and cunning never cease to astound and stun him. He proves to be an ally and friend by standing by her side whenever she faces opposition. On most occasions. But there are a number of pivotal points where he totally falls flat on his face.

Over the course of the 24 episodes, Jinshi repeatedly demonstrates a disturbing lack of empathy and respect for Maomao’s right to bodily autonomy. Despite their comedic intentions, some of these scenes fall flat. This casts doubt on the character’s credibility.
