MW3 is expected to exacerbate one major gun problem, according to CoD fans

During the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2007, players could only select from a total of 26 weapons and one to two attachments, which severely restricted weapon customization options.

Activision’s announcement that Modern Warfare 2’s content would be included in the sequel, due in November, sent Call of Duty fans into a frenzy. However, as the excitement surrounding the release of Modern Warfare 3 fades, concern over the condition of the game’s weapons has emerged. As players expressed concern this week over how monotonous weapon archetypes have grown, the age-old joke that CoD games never genuinely change has returned.

Many people have noticed that the majority of the weapons in some archetypes, like assault rifles, feel the same as those that were imported from Modern Warfare (2019). If you need more information about MW3, which is expected to exacerbate one major gun problem, according to CoD fans, read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

MW3 is expected to exacerbate one major gun problem, according to CoD fans:

“I would much rather have a smaller selection of unique guns than a massive collection that mostly feels and performs the same,” read one post among the growing CoD outcry. During the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2007, players could only select from a total of 26 weapons and one to two attachments, which severely restricted weapon customization options. By the time of MW2 (2021), there are more than 60 weapons in the arsenal, the majority of which can accept up to five attachments.

Many have claimed that the ability to customize a player’s weapon system to fit their preferred playstyle for multiplayer, Warzone, and DMZ is a fantastic addition. But as time has passed, a lack of balance has caused a few weapons to stand out among their peers while most of them feel the same. Players are concerned about MW3, which is expected to have all of the MW2 weapons as well as some old favorites from the first game, because of this lack of “personality”.

Players specifically mentioned the introduction of “weapon families” in MW2, which makes a variety of weapons seem and feel similar. I have to concur with the general consensus here as well. Even though the mode slightly alters how I feel when playing, I’ve been liking DMZ much more than multiplayer. However, my fully equipped FR Avancer feels too identical to my M4 or another player’s AK.

The grind has been kept interesting for me by the requirement to level up weapons in various archetypes in order to obtain the attachments I want. Switching from two assault rifles to a light machine gun or a sniper rifle throughout a session has been crucial, and I, along with many others, hope that Sledgehammer Games makes more of an effort to balance archetypes in MW3. Before the game is formally released worldwide in early November, on Oct. 6, the beta for MW3 will start, and we’ll know for sure then.
