Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) could be the title that brings the franchise back to PC on Steam. The artwork for the game has recently hit the internet. Since 2003, the franchise has launched games for a number of platforms including PC and handheld consoles.

However, in recent years, the PC version can only be accessed using the Battle.Net launcher with some of Activision Blizzard’s other games instead of being available through Steam.

For a long time, fans have been requesting the developers to make the franchise available through the Valve-owned platform, just to have one more option. And with the expected release of the Modern Warfare 2, that might happen.

On May 29, some enthusiasts found out that the artwork for Modern Warfare 2 (2022) – featuring the iconic skull mask of Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley – appeared on Steam. While the game isn’t listed so far, so players can’t head over to Steam and pre-order the game now. But upon going to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 page and scrolling to the bottom, players can see the cover of the upcoming game.

If the series makes a comeback to the platform, it would be the first in the franchise to be available on the Valve-owned platform since CoD: WWII and Modern Warfare: Remastered that came out in 2017.

As mentioned above, the new title does not appear as a new or upcoming release on Steam, and the search result for Modern Warfare 2 will take players to the 2009 version.

IOnly time will tell when players will be able to get MW2 (2022) through Steam, but the hints look promising.
