In Chapter 121, The complex relationship between Roland and Zachary reveals that Roland hasn’t truly liked Zachary not since their early years. You see their father joined the Hughes family when he wed Roland’s mother however, following Roland’s passing their father wed Zachary’s mother again. 

This did not sit well with Roland who believed that Zachary was stealing things that rightfully belonged to him such as his property and family name. When Zachary who is attempting to move on from the past is determined to take revenge on Roland for escaping from jail, things become even more intense.
