League of Legends patches are released every two weeks by Riot Games, a well-known brand in the online gaming community. Before becoming live, these updates are put through a rigorous testing process on a special server called the Public Beta Environment (PBE). After the October 11th release of LoL Patch 13.20, the developers started closely examining the changes that the next patch would make to the PBE. The latest patch for League of Legends is basically an expansion of the previous one. League of Legends Patch 13.21: Comprehensive Analysis of Buffs, Nerfs, and Adjustments

On October 17, fans received a sneak peek at the upcoming patch via Twitter from Riot Phroxzon, which is another alias for Lead Designer of the League Balance Team and Preseason Matt Leung-Harrison. He went through each anticipated change in this last installment. Let us dissect the subtleties of LoL Patch 13.21.

League of Legends Patch 13.21: All Buffs and Nerfs Analysis

Phroxzon highlighted Riot’s favourable early evaluation of League of Legends 13.20 when talking about the game’s current status. The improved combat timing, slower game tempo, and lessened snowball impact in the early game have garnered positive feedback from players. A minute or so has been added to the average game length, bringing it back to levels seen in Seasons 7-8. The amount of snowballing has decreased to its lowest level in around five years, from previously unheard-of heights.

Acknowledging that the modifications to the jungle have achieved a balance between effective ganking and farming, Phroxzon also praised the way in which they have been received. He did concede, though, that there are still some problems with the in-role champion balance. He saw, for example, that some tanks are too strong while many marksman champions are crippled.
