When Kazuma and Aqua go home, they see Megumin making fun of Darkness. Megumin assures them she isn’t doing anything out of the ordinary to Darkness as they lock her and Darkness in the room together. After that, Kazuma and Aqua find out that Darkness is getting some support from Megumin in her endurance competition preparations.
Darkness explains to Kazuma that she would rehearse at her father’s house, but she is afraid he could find out or become sick from her secret plans. As she did with Darkness at Iris’s castle earlier in the series, Kazuma takes advantage of this opportunity to torture him. After that, Aqua reveals to Darkness, Kazuma, and Megumin that a butler had traded her a dragon egg.
Zeltman Kingsford is the name Aqua gave the dragon, she informs Kazuma and the others. One day, she dreams that her dragon, Emperor Zel, will ascend to the throne of dragons. To collect their prize, Aqua, Darkness, and Kazuma go to Wiz’s business the following day. But back at home, Megumin is watching Zel. Vanir spills the beans about his and Wiz’s exploits as Kazuma tenderly strokes his bankroll.
According to Vanir, he is attempting to stop Wiz from getting into debt and making problems. Then, as part of her services, Vanir offers to do a reading for Darkness. Having Darkness put her hand on a device is something Vanir requests. He proceeds to question Darkness about her efforts to reduce the weight of her armor. Darkness confides in Vanir that she is eager to flaunt her toned abs. Vanir then confronts Darkness, demanding to know why the latter wore Megumin’s garment while posing in a mirror.
