When you go to Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima, you can’t just go back to Tsushima Island whenever you want. You have to do certain things first. This can make it feel like you are stuck on Iki Island. But don’t worry, there is a way to get back to the main game.

When is Departure Possible from Iki Island?

Once you start playing on Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima you can’t leave until you finish all the main missions there. The expansion begins with a quest called Journey into the Past and once you start it you can’t go back to the main game until you are done with everything on Iki Island. The main missions on Iki Island don’t take too long to finish only a few hours of playing.

Even though the main story on Iki Island doesn’t take too long, there is a lot of extra stuff you can do there. After you finish the main story, you can come back to Iki Island later to do more things like special quests, side missions and finding hidden items you might have missed.

How to Fast Travel in lki Island 

Once you unlock Fast Travel, going back to Tsushima Island is easy. You just need to press a few buttons. Here’s how:

  • To open the World Map, press the Options button.
  • To zoom out, push the right analog stick downwards.
  • Look towards the west.
  • Choose a Fast Travel Point on Tsushima Island.

After a short wait, you will be back on the main game map. Then, you can go between islands whenever you want. Make sure to look around Iki Island well, because there are cool things to find and side missions to do. Even though it only takes about twelve hours to finish, exploring Iki Island won’t take too long.
