Bungie announces that all players of Destiny 2 can participate in the free “Into the Light” event which features some of their all-time favourite weapons. Starting on April 9, 2024, Bungie plans to keep gamers expecting the event with a live video which they discussed in order to build interest for the major upgrade known as “The Final Shape”. They displayed some of the prizes that players can obtain during “Into the Light” such as updated versions of well-known weaponry from the game.

Destiny 2: Into The Light: Making a Comeback with 12 Iconic Weapons

The weapons that will be making a comeback in Into the Light according to Bungie are a carefully selected mix of player favourites from Destiny 2 raids pinnacle quests, and other in-game events. Certain weapons such the Midnight Coup handcannon were formerly limited to raids that have since been archived like Leviathan.

However other weapons including the Mountaintop grenade launcher and the Recluse submachine gun were removed from PVP because of their overwhelming dominance. Additionally armour sets comparable of the original Destiny 2 launch phase will be available in Into the Light.

All Classic Weapons Making a Comeback:

  • Midnight Coup (Hand Cannon)
  • Hung Jury SR4 (Scout Rifle)
  • Blast Furnace (Pulse Rifle)
  • Elsie’s Rifle (Pulse Rifle)
  • Succession (Sniper Rifle)
  • Mountaintop (Special Grenade Launcher)
  • Forbearance (Special Grenade Launcher)

Into the Light Insight and Rewards

Bungie revealed more details on the rewards that players can expect in Destiny 2: Into the Light and Onslaught during the second of three promotional livestreams related to the game. In Destiny 2 the new game mode called Onslaught involves facing waves of enemies one after another, as Guardians given with protecting the Last City from the Witness’s frightening forces, players take up this responsibility.

Updated versions of a few iconic weapons from Destiny 2 and its predecessor are among the most appealing rewards that players can look forward to from taking part in Into the Light. Since the game’s launch in 2017 Bungie has consistently improved Destiny 2 and its service model, another big step forward is the upcoming release of The Final Shape expansion which promises to change how Bungie produces new content for Destiny 2.

But before then Bungie has designed Into the Light to fill the gap and keep gamers interested. Furthermore, the fact that Into the Light is available to all Destiny 2 players for free eliminates the idea that it’s just a workaround to make up for the delay of The Final Shape.

Enhanced Classic Weapons

It’s possible that the reborn weaponry in Destiny 2 Into the Light differs slightly from the originals. Rather they are republished with updated benefit pools some even come in uncommon “Limited Edition” versions with upgraded features and new looks. As a result the Into the Light Mountaintop might not have the same degree of authority as its predecessor.

While Destiny 2 Into the Light is a prelude to The Final Shape experienced players can enjoy an attractive deal from Bungie that gives them access to a treasure trove of previously undiscovered classic weaponry while they wait impatiently for the new update to launch.
