CS: GO has several levels to its gameplay that makes it complex. Mastering at these levels is the basic foundation to excel at the game. The maps can be categorized into two types in default games—bomb defuse and hostage rescue. Bomb defuse is believed to be a more important aspect.

All professional tournaments across the globe are played on bomb defusal maps as they provide several quality maps and enable players to make in-depth strategy choices. In these games, each side can win the game in a couple of ways. Terrorists can take down all counter-terrorists or take down bomb sites.

There are two bomb sites on each map — A and B. However, blowing up a whole site isn’t easy because it requires a team to conquer one of the sites and then manage to defend it for at least 40 seconds.

However, for anti-terrorists, it’s even more tricky. They can win the match by killing the enemies unless they’ve planted the bomb. Once they manage to do that, CTs are required to defuse the bomb, otherwise, it will explode and the round will go to terrorists.

How can you defuse the bomb?

In order to do that in the game, a counter-terrorist player should first approach the bomb. In several instances, doing so will require players to take down all the enemies, since they’ll be protecting the bomb after planting it.

Once the counter-terrorist player gets near the bomb, they will have to click the key that is configured as the defuse hotkey. By default, it’s E, but players have the option to rebind it from the settings menu.

The defuse will last for 10 seconds, which provides players 30 seconds to eliminate the terrorists and defuse the bomb that has been planted. However, there is another way to make the process faster.

As a counter-terrorist, players can get hold of a defuse kit, which will cost them $400. With that kit at their disposal, the defusing time will come down to five seconds. Defuse kits drop when the player holding it dies, which means it has its pros and cons. Fortunately, players will be able to pick up their teammates’ defuse kits once they fall, however, they’ll probably have to purchase another kit when the following round kicks off.

While five seconds might not sound like a huge deal, it actually makes a difference in a high-octane match.
