With back-to-back action in the series, Boundless Necromancer Chapter 40 is once again creating the hype. In contrast to Han Sungyoon, Hyungmin, and Choonseok, who are on the eleventh level, Namgoong Hyuk is currently stationed on the twentieth. As a result, they would have a tough time winning a fight against Namgoong Hyuk. Han Sungyoon isn’t fighting Namgoong Hyuk for the sake of Japan; he’s doing it for himself, as he stands to gain a lot from the victory. Let’s watch how their battle develops from here.

The chapter begins with some history about Namgoong Hyuk, the blue sky sword dragon. The elder of Hyuk’s Murim clan saw him bully a companion and realized that Hyuk was the strongest of the young men in his clan. The wise man places his hand on Hyuk and explains that martial arts are not meant to injure people but rather to lead them to enlightenment and that Hyuk must never harm anyone without good cause. Namgoong Hyuk dedicated himself to training after that day, and he eventually made it to the twentieth floor. His neighbors were proud of him, but Namgoong Hyuk still wasn’t content. Just getting to the top of the tower isn’t satisfying his hunger.

Good Hero

He made an effort to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps but found that killing humans was where he truly found joy. Since killing helpless beings no longer satisfied him and since murdering individuals in public was forbidden in Murim, he utilized dimensional tickets to teleport to another world. But Han Sungyoon was the one who drew his eye. The next scene involves Han Sungyoon’s meeting with his rivals from the tenth level, Hyungmin, and Choonseok. The group had convened in Japan specifically to thwart Namgoong Hyuk. All three of them may be defeated by the mysterious creature that suddenly appears in Shinjaku, even if they are all S-rank hunters.

Sungyoon had previously faced Cathrine in the arena (chapter 32), and she had also shown up for their encounter. She is called Arie Chika by the president of the Japanese Hunters’ Association. She praised the four of them for coming even if everyone else had abandoned Japan. Sungyoon didn’t come to murder Namgoong Hyuk because he wants to be a good hero; he wants the reward and development that will follow from doing so.
