Krafton has announced iQOO as the title sponsor for the Battlegrounds Mobile India 2022 esports tournaments. iQOO (I Quest On and On) is a smartphone brand aimed at young, tech-savvy consumers. In addition to iQOO, Krafton has named Loco as the ‘powered by’ sponsor for the 2022 BGMI events. Krafton made an investment in the livestreaming platform last year. Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports 2022 title sponsor and streaming partner decided.

Battlegrounds Mobile India 2022 esports roadmap

This year, Krafton will host four tournaments, beginning with the Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC), which is currently in its third stage. The BMOC will be a semi-pro event that will pave the way for the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1 esports spectacle. The BMPS, which will take place from May 19 to June 12, will feature 24 of the country’s top teams competing for a two-crore INR prize pool, the largest ever for an esports event in the country.

Major BGMI tournaments in 2022

  1. Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC)
  2. Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1
  3. Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS)
  4. Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 2

Krafton announced six crore INR in prize money through these four tournaments in its 2022 esports roadmap. The BMOC will have no prize pool, whereas the BMPS will have a two-crore INR prize pool for each season. Aside from that, the BGIS 2022 edition will take place later this year. The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 was also sponsored by iQOO. The tournament was a huge success, and it ended in January 2022. It received over 200 million views, with 460k peak viewers.

GodLike, an Indian team, also competed in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Finals. The event in which the Indian team will compete in the global event this year will pique the interest of fans. Krafton makes a concerted effort to organise events in a fair and equitable manner. Hackers are frequently barred from participating in games and tournaments. They banned more than 41 teams from the BMOC last week for breaking rules, so this could be a watershed moment for BGMI and its developers.
