An employee of the Hotel Cardinal administers a bartending exam to Ryu Sasakura, a brilliant bartender, in the pilot episode of the anime Bartender: Glass of God. The results of the test disqualified every single candidate because they were all poor performers.
The search irritated Miwa Kurushima and Yukari Higuchi, who were both employed at the Business Planning Division. Yet, by complete coincidence, they crossed up with Ryu Sasakura, a young man who is a bit forgetful, at the park.
Although they initially had negative impressions of him, they later learned that he worked as a bartender. While they were considering contacting him to take the bartending exam for their hotel, they weren’t entirely sure.Eden Hall was a lonely tavern with a stellar reputation online, and to their surprise, that’s where the two found Sasakura for the third time.
They saw Sasakura’s dramatic demeanor shift as he served them upon entering the bar and realizing he was the sole bartender there. Not only did he seem more assured, but his cocktail-making prowess was a sight to behold. The wonderful cocktails that Sasakura could concoct left an impression on Kurushima and Higuchi. His insight as a bartender and his passion for making sure his customers had a great drink had them in awe.
The Division Chief remained skeptical, despite their recommendations of Sasakura for their hotel. This didn’t stop Kurushima and Higuchi from hiring him; after all, he had fulfilled every requirement for the position of bartender at Hotel Cardinal. So concluded the pilot.
