The fans are excited for Astro Note Episode 2 which will be out soon. Unfortunately, Takumi, a talented chef, has recently lost his employment. After finding out he had to live there full-time, he hesitates to take a gig at Astro-sou, an ancient boarding home. At least, he is until he meets Mira, the lovely and charismatic nanny. Their bond grows stronger as they start working together. Mira, though, is hiding a terrible secret: she is not a human.

Someone in a spaceship arrives in Japan after escaping from a larger spacecraft; this sets the stage for the space pursuit that follows. The plot then shifts to show that the “alien” has already settled on Earth and is the landlady of Astro Lodge, the place where our protagonist, Takumi Miyasaka, is applying for a job. Mira Gotokuji, the landlady, unfortunately, provided inaccurate information regarding the property.
Despite the job description claiming Astro Lodge is a restaurant, it is actually a shared house that serves breakfast. The landlady is seeking a chef due to her disastrous cooking and the residents’ expectations of cuisine. Takumi moves into Astro Lodge to pursue his passion for cooking and to satisfy his desire on Mira, who he met the second he lay eyes on her.
Mira apologizes for the blunder, but he still decides to move in. Takumi has no idea that her guardian poodle, Naosuke, is really an extraterrestrial being on the hunt for a key. She may be a widow, and he has no idea how difficult it will be for him to be with her. That’s all he knows.
This is based on a very basic principle. A blend of romantic comedies, slice of life, and science fiction, sort of thing. Who knows where the plot will lead because it’s an original anime. Based on what I’ve seen thus far, I think I’m going to like it. Besides Takumi, it appears that every single person living in the shared house has their own little secret. Intergalactic beings Mira and Naosuke team up with underground idol Matsubara.
