The lengthy 1.1 patch notes for Diablo 4 are probably a result of the fact that they should include all the details for season one, including the new features and the new Malignant Hearts. Diablo 4’s first season marks the arrival of Malignant Monsters, which are unlocked by a new questline. The Cage of Binding is then used to capture Corrupted enemies, who when killed drop Malignant Hearts.

But we can review some of the highlights right here. Players of Diablo 4 know by this point that critical hit damage and chance, as well as the “Vulnerable” debuff, are mainstays of most builds, regardless of the class they choose. That has also been noticed by Blizzard, who has taken action to “enable more builds to flourish.” The same holds true for affixes that shorten cooldowns.

Malignant Tunnels, which Blizzard refers to as “highly replayable Dungeons teeming with fearsome foes to eradicate,” and a new boss named Varshan the Consumed are examples of the new content. Players must create a new character on the Seasonal Realm and have at least one character that has finished the campaign in order to access season one content.
