Wolves have completed the permanent signing of South Korean striker Hwang Hee-Chan after a successful loan spell at the club. The winger is currently five months into a season-long loan at Molineux, having agreed personal terms before his arrival last summer, Wolves have now activated a clause to make his move from RB Leipzig permanent later this year, on a deal until 2026. Although the 26-year-old is currently recovering from an injury which has put him out of action for the past month, he has made a big impact on the club, scoring four goals in 15 matches for Wolves.

Head coach Bruno Lage has repeatedly praised Hwang and made it clear he wants to sign him permanently. “ I’am very happy with Hwang and he’s very happy with us ,” Lage said recently. “He fits like a glove in our system and our dynamic.

The South Korean international made a goal-scoring start to his time at Molineux by coming off the bench to score on his debut away at Watford and started ten consecutive games for the club between last September and early December.

Hwang told Wolves’ official website: “ I Am very happy to be here at Wolves until 2026. I feel very happy to play for a team with a really good manager and great teammates.

“They have helped me with many things since I came here, and because of this, I have been able to focus just on me and my football and have been able to do my things well.

“I want to say thank you to them because they have helped me to try my best.”

Hwang scored a memorable brace in the Premier League win against Newcastle United and also netted against Leeds United on the road. Meanwhile he was also voted the Castore Player of the Month for September.

I will try my best to show my best performance: Hwang

He is now on the path of recovery after getting injured in a 1-0 win against Brighton in December and the forward recently revealed in a video last week that he is back on the training pitch after his injury and hopes to be back soon.

He told the video published on Wolves’ social media channels: “After the injury, I am recovering well and have started jogging and training. I will try my best to show my best performance to the fans. Thank you for the support.”

Wolves are on a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League. The form took them to eighth place in the points table, just four behind fourth-placed Manchester United and three behind West Ham United in fifth.
