The Gunners started the month with a thrilling 3-2 win over Watford before defeating Leicester City 2-0 at home. But their winning run came to an end with a 2-0 loss to second-placed Liverpool at Emirates Stadium. Jurgen Klopp’s side secured all three points courtesy of goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

Arsenal bounced back with a 1-0 win against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Bukayo Saka netted the winner to take all three points and help his team hold on to the fourth and final Champions League spot before going into the international break.

Speaking after the announcement of his second such award this season, Arteta said that he was proud to have won it and credited the other staff members at the club for his success.

‘It is a privilege to win it with the managers and with the level we have in this league,’ he said.

‘I want to thank everybody at the club for the support that they give and their contribution because it is something that is a consequence of winning football matches that everybody is giving their best to do.’

Arsenal will next travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on Monday.

Harry Kane named Player of the Month

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been named Premier League Player of the Month for March. The 28-year-old Englishman netted four times and registered two assists in four league appearances for Spurs.

Kane’s heroics helped Antonio Conte’s side to pick up three wins from four games and helped them to fifth spot in the points table. It was the England captain’s seventh Player of the Month award, taking him level with Manchester City legend Kun Aguero. No player in Premier League history has won it more.

Ronaldo bags Goal of the Month

Tottenham’s only defeat in the month of March came against Manchester united at Old Trafford. The Red Devils secured a thrilling 3-2 victory courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning hat-trick. The 37-year-old’s long-range striker to open the scoring bagged him the Goal of the Month award.

The veteran was up against seven other players for this month’s coveted title, including Chelsea’s Kai Havertz, Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, and Wolves’ Ruben Neves, with the final decision being put to fans in a vote on the Premier League’s site.
