The 24-year-old has been going through a tough phase at Old Trafford as he is struggling to break into United’s team this season. He made just 19 Premier League appearances, scoring just four goals and providing two assists this season.

Rashford only has 15 months remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and lack of game time might force the youngster to push for a move away from the club. The forward has been struggling to establish himself at the club and lack of form has cost him his spot in the national team. Moreover emergence of Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho has pushed Rashford to the bench at United.

With the World Cup in Qatar approaching in eight months time, Rashford would be  desperate to get more game-time and get back his goal-scoring form and thereby secure a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The Mirror says the Gunners are in the market for a quality striker and have added the name of Rashford to their hit-list. The 24-year-old has made just nine Premier League starts this season and netted just five times in all competitions. Arsenal are currently placed fourth in the league standings with 54 points from 28 games, three points above fifth-placed Manchester United, who have played a game more.

If Arteta’s side can secure Champions League qualification at the end of the season, it will certainly attract quality footballers to Emirates in the summer. Rashford could be assured of regular game-time which is what the striker needs to find his mojo.

Rashford brings pace, skill and clinical finishing. Arteta is known to improve players and bring out the best in them and the Spaniard could be just the kind of manager Rashford needs after working under so many flawed coaches in his United career.
