Leeds United find themselves in a testing position after their 2-4 loss to Manchester United in the Premier League home fixture of matchday 26. The Red Devils scored two goals in the first-half but Leeds came from behind to restore parity in the initial minutes of the second-half. However, goals from Fred and Anthony Elanga, saw Manchester United clinch a convincing victory. The loss finds the Bielsa-managed side only three points clear of the relegation zone, with increasing pressure on them to perform well in the remaining 12 fixtures.

Bielsa believes that it is important for the team to be optimistic and imagine their winning possibilities. He is further content to lead his side by his natural philosophy to produce the best possible result.

“The only way I know. Every game we play I imagine we have true possibilities of winning. That’s exactly how I thought when we played Liverpool. Imagination prior to the game we had resources to win the game. The game we played against Manchester allowed us to believe we could beat Liverpool, but we lost 6-0, so I always believe or I imagine in what way we should do things,” Biesla told leeds-live.co.uk.

‘Leeds United’s effort cannot be doubted’

The Argentine tactical genius showed faith in his side in the face of criticism. He believes that their willingness to win and effort cannot be doubted as they have been an intense team since being promoted to the Premier League.

“It’s not an option. It’s the only way possible. These players have already demonstrated they have the level to play in the PL. The style, the model has already shown it can work in the PL. The effort and the willingness of the team cannot be judged, doubted. They have been the most intense team in their performance in the PL across two years,” the tactician said.

“What is very clear, with all those arguments, virtues, capacities, I do not manage to obtain the same as before. What I am achieving is worse. There are two paths: abandon everything you do, change the profile of the team, or try to correct what is done badly. To obtain from this group what they are capable of doing. Evidently, I am not managing to achieve it,” he added.

Leeds United will have their task cut out in their next Premier League clash against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
