Manchester United will be aiming to consolidate their fourth place spot in the Premier League points table when they travel to Leeds United on Sunday. The Reds have 43 points from 25 games, just two points above fifth-placed West Ham United. Ralf Rangnick’s side defeated Brighton 2-0 on Tuesday and will be bidding to make back-to-back wins at Elland Road on Sunday. Meanwhile Leeds suffered a 3-0 loss to Everton in their previous match and sit at 15th spot in the standings, six points clear of the relegation zone.

Leeds have won five, drawn eight and lost 10 of their 23 league games to collect 23 points this season. Marcelo Biesla’s side haven’t been at their best this term, having picked up just one point from the last nine available, drawing against Aston Villa either side of a home defeat to Newcastle and away loss to Everton.

Things aren’t getting any easier for the Whites as they have three straight league games against Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Biesla’s side would be desperate to get one over on the Red Devils, who thrashed them 5-1 in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in August.

Rangnick has managed to squeeze out results

On the other hand, Manchester United will enter the contest on the back of a 2-0 victory against Brighton. The Reds secured all three points courtesy of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes and an impressive performance by goalkeeper David de Gea.

United haven’t been at their free flowing best but Rangnick has been able to squeeze out results to keep them very much alive in the race for a Champions League spot. They are unbeaten in their last six league games, winning three of their last five while they haven’t lost away from home in England’s top flight since November 20.

Along with United, West Ham, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham are also very much in the race for champions League qualification, therefore it’s going to be a crucial match for the Reds while Leeds will be hoping to move further away from the drop zone with a positive result.
