Mitchell Marsh, a professional cricketer who represents the Australian cricket team internationally. Marsh has represented the Australian team in all three game formats including ODI, T20 and Test. Mitchell is an all-around cricketer, who is right arm medium pace bowler and right handed batsman. Mitchell was born in Attadale, Western Australia, on October 20, 1991. He has competed for his squad in both the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021 and the 2015 ICC World Cup. Former cricket player Shaun Mitchell, who has also represented his country, is Mitchell’s older brother. Melissa, Mitchell’s sister, plays professional basketball in Australia. He is one of the team’s tallest players and is called by the nickname “Bison.”

On February 17, 2009, Mitchell made his professional cricket debut for the Warriors in a Ford Ranger Cup game. He is the youngest ever player till date to make his debut in an Australian domestic one-day cricket match. He was the Australian team’s captain during the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. He was greatly commended for his effort and for helping his side win the competition. He was chosen by the Deccan Chargers for the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, and the Pune Warriors (a team coached by Mitchell’s father) for the 2011 season. He was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2020 IPL season, however because of the injury, he only participated in one game. Mitchell was chosen for the September 2011 Australia tour of South Africa. Due to Brett Lee’s injury, he was substituted for Brett Lee in the One Day International during the later parts of the series. Mitchell made his Test debut against Pakistan on October 22, 2014, in the United Arab Emirates. At the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Mitchell picked up his first five wickets against England in a single One Day International. When he took the place of Peter Handscomb during the 2017–18 Ashes series, he made his first Test hundred. His 181 runs were just 1 run short of his brother’s record-setting 182 runs. He had to give up 20% of his match pay after he was caught using abusive language to Kagiso Rabada during a game against South Africa.

The Australia Cricket Board awarded Mitchell a central contract for the 2018–19 campaign. He was chosen for the 2019 Ashes team, although he was unable to participate in any of the first four games. He participated in the sixth game and recorded his first Test match 5-fer. Mitchell hit two back-to-back half centuries in the T20I series during Australia’s tour of the West Indies. In the fourth game, where he took 3 wickets and scored 75 runs, he recorded his best T20 stats. He was chosen for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021. He received the man of the match award in the finals for his 77 run performance that won the contest. Mitchell is one of the most versatile all rounders in the game, who can play in all the formats.
