Usman Qadir is a professional cricketer from Pakistan, he plays the role of a right-arm leg break bowler and represents the National team in T20 and ODI formats. Qadir has a deceptive googly and has the reputation of a mystery spinner. Usman is the son of Pakistan’s former spinner, Abdul Qadir, Usman has a similar action to his father. On the back of some brilliant seasons in domestic cricket, Qadir made his international debut for Pakistan in 2020. Impressed by his leg-spin bowling in the U19 circuit, former Australian cricketer, Darren Barry urged Qadir to move to Australia and join Adelaide Cricket Club. However, Qadir couldn’t quite continue to deliver on a regular basis and a dip in form in the domestic arena saw him shift to Western Australia to try his luck.

Qadir made his debut for Western Australia in the 2018/19 JLT One-Day Cup. He picked up 3 for 50 and several match-winning contributions throughout the tournament. Later that day, Qadir made his intentions clear of playing for Australia in the 2020 T20 World Cup. He soon figured that gaining citizenship would be a difficult task, and as a result, Qadir came back to his home country and was eventually selected in Pakistan’s T20I squad to face the Aussies in 2019. However, he did not feature in any of the T20 matches on that tour. The leggie finally made his much-awaited T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2020 November. The spinner took 1 wicket for 24 runs as Pakistan won the T20 match with ease.
