India speedster Umran Malik was born on 22 November 1999. He is considered Team India’s current fastest bowler and he hails from Gujjar Nagar Jammu, the winter capital city of Jammu and Kashmir as well. However, he made his Twenty20 debut on 18 January 2021, for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy whereas he made his List A debut on 27 February 2021, for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.
However, in September 2021, he was added as a short-term COVID-19 replacement for T Natarajan by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 Indian Premier League. And, he made his international debut for the India cricket team in June 2022 against Ireland as well. On the other hand, he made his One Day International debut for the India cricket team in November 2022 against New Zealand as well.
In April 2021, Umran Malik was selected as one of three net bowlers for the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL). On 3 October 2021, he made his debut in the cash-rich IPL, against Kolkata Knight Riders, during the 49th match of the 2021 Indian Premier League as well. He made headlines during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore when he bowled five balls in a row at more than 150 kmph as well. And, soon after this, he was named as a net bowler for India’s team for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as well and he made his first-class debut on 23 November 2021, for India A against South Africa A as well.
Meanwhile, he was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022 auction and on 27 April 2022, in the 2022 Indian Premier League match against the Gujarat Titans, he picked up his first five-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket. Moreover, he was also named the Emerging Player of the tournament as well. In May 2022, he was added to India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against South Africa. And, the following month, he was added to India’s T20I squad for their two-match series against Ireland. Notably, Devon Conway was his first wicket in ODI as well.
