Stuart Broad is a professional cricketer, who plays for England cricket team Internationally. Broad has represented the England cricket team in all the three formats of the game. Broad is a right arm fast bowler, who is capable of taking wickets in quick succession. Broad is currently a Test match specialist bowler for England. He was born on 24 June 1986 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. Broad is one of the tallest players in the team with 6 feet 5 inches height. Broad at the beginning of his career, started playing for Leicestershire, but later in 2008, he got shifted to Nottinghamshire which is home place and also his father played for them. In the year 2020, Broad while playing for England against West Indies, became the 7th bowler ever to take 500 Test wickets.

Broad initially started his cricketing career as an opening batsman just like his father Chris Broad, who was a former opening batsman for England. Chris Broad is currently an ICC match referee. At the age of 17, Broad considered that he could become an impactful fast bowler and began training for that. He did his schooling from Brooke Priory School and Oakham School. At the age of 8, Broad signed a contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club. In 2004, for Leicestershire 2nd XI, Broad played his debut match and had an impactful performance. After his consistent performance, he was included in Leicestershire playing XI. He played his first class debut match in 2005 against Durham University Centre of Cricketing Excellence.

Stuart Broad played for England under 19 team in 2005 against Sri Lanka under 19 team. He took 5 wickets and gave just 17 runs in the first Test. After consistently performing well in England A team, Broad was selected in England’s One Day Internationals (ODI) team on 23 August 2006 to play against Pakistan. It was on 28 August 2006, when Broad played his first T20 Internationals against Pakistan and took 2 wickets in 4 overs by giving 34 runs. On 30 August 2006, Broad played his ODI debut match for England. Broad was included in England’s T20 team for the ICC T20 world cup. He became the first bowler to get 6 sixes hit in his over in T20I. This was done by Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh. Broad became part of England’s Ashes team to face Australia in July 2009. This was Broad’s first Ashes Test match. 

In the 2013-14 Ashes series, Broad was the highest wicket taking bowler. He was one of the few players of the team who performed well, because the England team lost the series by 5-0. Broad captained the England team in 2014. During a Test series of England against Sri Lanka Broad became the 4th player and the first English bowler to take 2 hat-tricks in Test cricket. During the first match between England and New Zealand on 22 March 2018, Broad took his 400th Test wicket and became the youngest bowler to do so. Broad reached another milestone on 28 July 2020, as he completed his 500 Test wickets after taking the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite. In 2022, while playing against India at Edgbaston, Broad gave 35 runs in a single over, which is the highest in Test cricket.
