Ben Stokes is a professional cricketer, who represents England Internationally. Stokes in domestic cricket plays for Durham. He has been a part of several T20 Leagues around the world including Indian Premier League. He originally belongs to New Zealand, as he was born there, but got shifted to England when he was just a child. Ben was born on 4 June, 1991 in Christchurch, New zealand. It was in August 2011, when Stokes got the chance to play his debut One Day International match for England. Stokes got the chance to play his first Ashes series in 2013-14. Stokes performed considerably in his first Ashes series as he took wickets of important batsmen and also contributed in the batting department as well. Stokes retired from the ODI format of the game in 2022. In 2015, in a series against Pakistan, Stokes’ performance in the first Test was outstanding,as he grabbed 4 wickets and made57 runs. However, he didn’t play well in the rest of the matches and also suffered a shoulder injury. His return after the injury was in 2016 in England’s tour of South Africa.

Stokes in the 2019 World Cup was named as man of the tournament. In the opening match of the World Cup against South Africa, he scored 89 runs and took 2 wickets and was awarded as man of the match. Other than this, he also took a catch which is considered as one of the best catches ever. In the finals also, Stokes was awarded as man of the match for his outstanding performance. Stokes had to face some serious time when he was booked for having a fight outside the nightclub during the series against West Indies, at Bristol. That incident resulted in destroying his career for almost 2 years. Stokes has played for several IPL teams and currently he is signed by Chennai Super Kings.
