Scott Boland is a professional cricketer, who plays for Australian cricket team Internationally. Scott has represented the Australian team in all the three formats of the game. Scott was born on 11 April 1989 in the Mordialloc region of Victoria, Australia. He is a right arm medium fast bowler who usually plays Test matches for Australia. Cricket Australia named Scott as Sheffield Shield player of the year in March 2019. In domestic cricket, Scott represents Victoria and Hobart Hurricanes. He did his schooling from the St. Bede’s College, Mentone. Parkdale Cricket Club was Scott’s first club and he played his first competitive match for them in under 12. Later he joined Victorian Premier Cricket Club at the age of 16.  

After successful consecutive seasons with Frankston Peninsula, taking 27 from 20 matches and 33 wickets in 2010/11 season, he was given his contract for Victoria team. He wasn’t given a chance to play right after the selection. In Victoria’s 4th Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia, Scott was selected. It was on 11 November 2011, when he played his debut match for Victoria. Scott took 2 wickets across 2 innings by bowling 25 overs and giving 92 runs. He also played against South Australia and took 3 wickets. Scott ended the season with 9 wickets. In the 2013/14 season, Scott was part of Victoria’s team. He played 9 matches and took 19 wickets in the Shield.

Scott performed consistently well in the Ryobi Cup and got the chance to get selected in One Day International (ODI) team. It was on 12 January 2016, when he played his ODI debut match against India. He didn’t perform well on his debut, as he wasn’t able to pick any wicket and gave 74 runs in 10 overs. In the 2018/19 season for Victoria, Scott was their leading wicket taking bowler, as he took 48 wickets. It was on 26 January 2016, when Scott played his T20 International debut match for Australia against India. He later became part of the tri series between Australia, West Indies and South Africa in the West Indies. Scott got the chance to become part of two ODI matches against West Indies, however one match was canceled and the other match in which Scott played, he took 2 wickets for 69 runs. 

Boland was named to the Aboriginal XI that toured England in 2018 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the 1868 Aboriginal squad that visited England. He got five wickets at an average of 28.40 in six matches and was named Taverners Australia Indigenous Cricketer of the Year. Boland was added to Australia’s Test squad as bowling cover in December 2021, before the third match of the 2021-22 Ashes series. He played his debut Test match against England on December 26, 2021. In the match, he took seven wickets, including 6/7 in England’s second innings. For his efforts, he received the Mullagh Medal. He took 18 wickets in the three last Tests of the Ashes series with an average of 9.55.
