Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a professional cricketer who plays for Afghanistan cricket team Internationally. Gurbaz has represented Afghanistan cricket team in One Day International and T20 International formats of the game. Gurbaz was born on 28 November 2001 in Kabul region of Afghanistan. His mother and father come from the Tribe known as Gurbaz. He is a right handed batsman who usually bats at the top of the order. In 2019, he played his first International match for Afghanistan. He is the only batsman of Afghanistan who has scored a hundred in his debut match. It was on 27 January 2017, when Gurbaz played his List A cricket debut match for Afghanistan A against Zimbabwe A on their tour to Zimbabwe. 

Gurbaz got the chance to play in the T20 format after his performance in List A cricket. In the Shpageeza Cricket League, Gurbaz played his debut T20 match for Mis Ainak Knights on 12 September 2017. In the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali four day tournament, Gurbaz played his first class cricket debut match for Mis Ainak Region on 1 March 2018. In the inaugural edition of the Afghanistan Premier League, Gurbaz was selected by Paktia’s team. After his consistent performance in domestic T20 cricket, he got the chance to play in T20 leagues overseas. In the 2019-20 season of the Bangladesh Premier League, Gurbaz was signed by the franchise Khulna Tigers in November 2019.

Gurbaz got the chance to play in the Caribbean Gurbaz got the chance to play in the Caribbean Premier League. He was selected by Barbados Tridents in July 2020 for the 2020 season of Caribbean Premier League (CPL). For the half left season of Pakistan Super League 2021, Gurbaz was signed by Multan Sultan in April 2021. For the 2021 season of the Lanka Premier League, Gurbaz was signed by Jaffna Kings in November 2021. He was replaced by Jason Roy in Gujarat Titans for the 2022 season of Indian Premier League. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season auctions, Gurbaz was transferred to Kolkata Knight Riders, a two times champion team. He played his debut match against Punjab Kings. 

Gurbaz was included in Afghanistan’s under 19 team in December 2017 for the 2018 under 19 cricket world cup. In the 2018 ACC under 19 Asia cup, Gurbaz became the highest run scorer for Afghanistan team with 117 runs in just 4 matches. For the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Gurbaz was selected in Afghanistan’s under 23 team in December 2018. Gurbaz was selected in Afghanistan’s T20 International’s team in August 2019 for their tri series. It was on 14 September 2019, when Gurbaz played debut T20 International match for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe. For Afghanistan’s One Day International series against Ireland in January 2021, Gurbaz was selected. On 21 January he played his debut ODI match against Ireland and became the first Afghanistan player to score a hundred on debut. He also became part of the team that played in the 2021 ICC T29 world cup.
