Prithvi Shaw is an Indian international cricketer who has represented his country in all formats of the game. Prithvi Shaw was born on 9 November, 1999.  Shaw and his father were featured in the documentary film Beyond All Limits in 2013, which highlighted his story and his cricket journey. Kunal Nayyar narrated the documentary and it was aired on National Geographic. In November 2013, he hit 546 in a Harris Shield elite division match, the highest total by any batter in any event of cricket since 1901. In 2012, he made 155 runs in the semi-finals and 174 runs in the final. Shaw trains and plays for Mumbai’s Middle Income Group Cricket Club, where Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin’s son, was his teammate.

Against Middleton Stoney Cricket Club, Shaw played for Cryptics in Oxfordshire in 2013. He opens the batting, and while playing for Cryptics he made 68 in under 10 overs. Shaw got out due to a shift in speed in English conditions by a fast bowler. Shaw was invited to England in April 2012 to play for Cheadle Hulme School in Manchester, where he hit 1,446 runs in a time duration of just 2 months. On his debut match, he hit a century. On February 25, 2017, Shaw played his List A debut match for Mumbai in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, he batted for Mumbai and hit a couple of centuries, as well as his fourth in five first-class matches since his debut.

Shaw was selected to India’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) teams for their series against Sri Lanka in June 2021. In the opening ODI of the three-match series, Shaw scored 43 runs off just 24 balls. On July 25, 2021, he played his T20I debut match for India against Sri Lanka. Shaw was selected in India’s Test team in August 2018 for the final two Tests against England, however he didn’t get the chance to play. He was selected to India’s Test team for the series against the West Indies in September 2018. Finally o n October 4, 2018, Shaw played his Test debut match against the West Indies. In that match, he achieved his first Test century and became the youngest batter to do so in Indian cricket.

Shaw became the second player in Indian Premier League history, after Ajinkya Rahane, to knock six boundaries in an over on April 29, 2021. He did this while against Shivam Mavi in the first over of the innings while playing for Delhi. Shaw was acquired for 1.2 crores by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018. Shaw, at the age of 18, became the youngest player in Indian Premier League history to bat at the top order on April 23, 2018. Shaw in his International career has played a total of 12 matches including all the formats of the game. He has 1 century in his name in the Test match. Shaw has had an amazing domestic career till now and right from the beginning, he is considered as a young prodigy.
