Jofra Archer was born on 1 April 1995 and is a Barbadian and English cricketer who currently plays for England. He is a right arm bowler. Jofra  represents Sussex and a variety of T20 teams in domestic cricket. He shifted to England in 2015 but was initially not  eligible to play for England until the year 2022. According to  The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regulations, he needed to fulfill a seven-year residence term because he did not live in England until after his 18th birthday. Archer performed three times for the West Indies Under-19s cricket team in 2014. Nevertheless, in November 2018, the ECB announced a regulation modification that reduced the qualifying duration from seven to three years.

 In July 2016 Archer made his first-class debut for Sussex during Pakistan’s tour of England. His List A debut against Gloucestershire happened later that month. In the year 2017 Archer was acquired by the Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League. Archer was also a player of the Hobart Hurricanes during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 Big Bash League seasons. At the 2018 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he was signed by the Quetta Gladiators. In the Indian Premier League  2018 season auction, he was sold for more than 6 crores to Rajasthan Royals.  Archer later made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut against the Mumbai Indians on 22 April 2018 and took three wickets. In the same game he was awarded player of the match. Archer was the most valuable player of the IPL season 2020, Though his team Rajasthan Royals were at the bottom in the rankings.

Archer was selected to England’s teams for the limited overs series against Pakistan. Also he was selected for a one-off One Day International (ODI) against Ireland in April 2019. On May 3, 2019, he made his ODI debut for England against Ireland. Later on  he made his debut for England on May 5, 2019, in Twenty20 International against Pakistan. He got selected in England’s team of 15 on May 21 for world cup  2019. In the world cup Archer showed his skills as he bowled the super over in the final against New Zealand. England ended up winning the world cup named Archer as the rising star of the squad. Archer made his Test debut in 2019 in the Ashes series second match. In the same Ashes series’s third match Archer took his first five wicket haul. 

Archer had two major operations for his elbow injury which ruled him out of the cricket for 12 months. Archer did his comeback in early 2023 against South Africa. He took 6 wickets and gave 40 runs which turned out to be his best figures in ODI. Archer has played a total of 48 international matches including all the three formats of the game. His stats are undoubtedly amazing. He has taken 42 wickets in 13 Test matches with the economy of 2.99. In One Day Internationals he has taken 42 wickets in 21 matches with an economy of 4.80. He is best known for his wicket taking ability. His T20 stats says that he has taken 18 wickets in 14 matches. Currently in the Indian Premier League Archer is Taken by Mumbai Indians. He was bought by MI in the IPL 2022 auction.
