Michael Rippon is a left-arm Chinaman and a hard-hitting batsman. Born in South Africa, Rippon plays professional cricket for the Netherlands and is also qualified to play in English-county. The allrounder started playing cricket at a young age and went through the rank in a rapid pace. The all-rounder made his debut in 2011 for the Cape Cobras and managed to put up an impressive show against the Knights. He had a dream debut against Kent, scalping four important wickets and ended with figures of 4/23 on debut to help Sussex to a huge victory. Rippon has done fairly well in the test format as well,Michael made a surprise appearance at the Black Caps South Island training camp in Lincoln in 2019 in hopes of featuring for the Kiwis.

He quickly proved his worth and returned the following season and declared his intention to qualify for New Zealand. Rippon was Otago’s leading run-scorer in the first-class tournament. Rippon accumulated 364 runs at a healthy average of 72.80 from his spot in the lower middle order and made the selectors take notice of him. Rippon was drafted in the Cape Cobras side in the South Africa domestic T20 league and was later picked by the Canadian T20 franchise the Vancouver Knights and went on to have a brilliant tournament.
