Khaleel Ahmed is a professional cricketer, who represents team India Internationally. Khaleel belongs to the Tonk region of Rajasthan state, India. His father is Khursheed Ahmed and he is a nurse in a local hospital in Tonk. Khaleel was born on 5 December, 1997. His father, being from a medical background, wanted his son to become a doctor. His parents were not supportive initially for Khaleel to become a cricketer. However, Khaleel today is an International player who has represented his nation. He is a left arm fast bowler. His long arms and tall body helps him to bowl easily and swiftly. Khaleel came into the limelight after playing in the Indian Premier League. 

Khaleel got to work with the former Indian fast bowler, Zaheer Khan. Zaheer was also a left arm fast bowler, with outstanding abilities. Khaleel, before taking his sport seriously, used to play tennis ball cricket. Khaleel got to play in the under 19 team of India in the 2016 World Cup. Although, he didn’t give his best there, as he was able to take only 3 wickets from 6 matches, but his bowling caught the eyes of many selectors for Indian Premier League (IPL) and one such was Rahul Dravid of Delhi Daredevils. Khaleel didn’t get to play any match in his first IPL season, however he got to learn a lot from some of the masters of the game.

Khaleel got to play his first match in the Twenty20 format of the game on 5 February, 2017 for Rajasthan in the 2016-17 Inter State Twenty20 Tournament. It was on 6 October, 2017 when got to play his first class debut match for Rajasthan in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. Khaleel was bought for only 10 lakhs in his first ever IPL by Delhi Daredevils in 2017. After that, Khaleel was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 Indian Premier League auction in January 2018. On 5 February, 2018, Khaleel played his List A debut match for Rajasthan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Khaleel’s consistently improving performance caught the eyes of the Indian team selectors.

Khaleel, in February 2022, at the mega auction of the Indian Premier League was bought by Delhi Capitals. It was in September, when Khaleel was selected in One Day International team of India for the 2018 Asia Cup. On 18 September, 2018 he played his debut match for India against Hongkong. Khaleel was included in India’s Twenty20 International team for their series against West Indies in October 2018. On 4 November, 2018 he played his debut T20I match for India. Khaleel has played a total of 25 International matches for India in T20I and ODI formats. He has managed to take 28 wickets in that. Although he hasn’t got a chance to play for India since last year, his bowling has kept improving.
