Jaydev Unadkat is an Indian professional cricketer who has represented his country on several occasions. Jaydev comes from the Porbandar region of state Gujrat. He was born on 18 October 1991. In domestic cricket, he represented Saurashtra right from the beginning. He has represented a number of Indian Premier League franchises. After his outstanding bowling figures he was sold as one of the most expensive Indian players when he was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013. He was awarded Player of the Match in May 2013 after recording his best T20 career bowling stats when he grabbed 5 wickets and gave just 25 runs against the Delhi Daredevils.
At the time of the 10th Indian Premier League (IPL) season, in the last over of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jaydev took a hat-trick and gave no run. He was transferred to another franchise in February 2017, this time to Rising Pune Supergiants. He was selected to India Blue’s squad for the 2018-19 Duleep Trophy in July 2018. He was selected in India B’s team for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018. Before this Jaydev was selected by IPL’s franchise Delhi Daredevils in the 2014 IPL auction. In the month of February during the IPL 2016 auction, he was offered a whopping amount of 16 crores, to play for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jaydev became the highest wicket taking bowler, when he took 67 wickets in just ten matches in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy. In January 2019, he set yet another record and became Saurashtra’s second Ranji Trophy bowler to reach 200 wickets. In August 2019, he was selected to the India Red team’s roster for the 2019-20 Duleep Cup before being nominated to India A for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy. He was selected by the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL auction for the 2023 Indian Premier League season on December 23, 2022. Before that in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in February 2022.
Jaydev helped as a net bowler for the Indian national team in Sri Lanka before making his international debut against South Africa in the first Test at Centurion in December 2010. Jay played his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut match in June 2016 against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. Jaydev was selected as a substitute for Kuldeep Yadav in the second Test against Bangladesh on December 22, 2022, at Mirpur. Jaydev Unadkat made his Test debut after a 12-year absence. Jaydev in his International career has played a total of 9 matches including two formats of the game. In 7 ODI he managed to grab 8 wickets and in 2 T20I he took 3 wickets.
