Devon Thomas is a West Indian cricketer who was born in Antigua on November 12, 1989. Devon Thomas played as the West Indies’ Under-19 team’s wicketkeeper during the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia. He began playing cricket in 2000 and represented the West Indies on several occasions. He played Under-19s and he also represented the Leeward Islands  against Barbados in the 2007-08 KFC Cup. In eight matches he scored 238 runs and became the Leeward Islands’ highest run-scorer in the 2018-19 Regional Super50 league. He was the team’s second best run-scorer and the competition’s fourth top scorer in the 2018-19 Regional Four Day Competition. 

He has been playing for the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots since he was selected by them in 2016 in the Caribbean Premier League. He was selected Leeward Islands captain for the 2019-20 Regional Super50 series in October 2019. He was signed by Kandy Warriors for the 2021 Lanka Premier League. He was also selected by Pune Devils for the 2021 T10 League. In 2009, he got his one-day international debut. At that time the West Indies squad was not up to the mark. They faced Bangladesh after the senior squad boycotted the series due to a contract dispute with the board.

Devon Thomas got to play only one season for Leeward Islands. He was then selected for making his One Day International debut against Bangladesh on July 28, 2009. At that time there were disputes going on in the West Indies site over salary with the West Indies Cricket Board. He got to bat only once, hitting 29 runs from 32 balls and taking two wickets with his right-arm medium pace bowling. Thomas is one of three wicket-keepers who have taken a One Day International wicket. He accomplished this record while bowling against Bangladesh. This happened in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series at Windsor Park (Dominica). He took the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah. Although the West Indies still lost the game.

He has played a total of 34 international matches for West Indies including all the three formats of the game. He has played 21 One Day Internationals and has scored 238 runs with an average of 14. In T20 Internationals, he has made 51 runs in 8 innings. He got to play only one Test match in his entire career for the West Indies. In those 2 innings he managed to score 31 runs. Currently he is not included in the West Indies team of 15 for any upcoming series.
