Devdutt Padikkal is a professional cricketer of India. Devdutt plays for Karnataka state in domestic cricket, in several trophies like Ranji trophy and Vijay Hazare trophy. In the Indian Premier League Devdutt plays for Rajasthan Royals, a franchise owned by Manoj Badale. Devdutt was born on July 7, 2000. He belongs to Edappal, Malappuram region, situated in the Kerala state. It was in the year 2021, when Devdutt played his first T20 International match, that too out of India against Sri Lanka. In 2011, Devdutt along with his family shifted to Karnataka, in Bangalore city. There he started attending Karnataka Institute Of Cricket. Then Devdutt started playing in the under 16 and under 19 cricket for the karnataka state.

In the Karnataka Premier League, Devdutt was selected by Bellary Tuskers in 2017. It was on November 28, 2018, when Devdutt played his first-class debut match for Karnataka in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. At the time of auction before the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore in December 2018. He became the first ever IPL player to hit three fifties in just 4 matches after his debut. It was on September 26, 2019,  when he played his List A debut match for Karnataka in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Devdutt scored 609 runs at the end of the tournament, and became the highest run scorer.

Devdutt was selected for India (A) team for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. On November 8, 2019, he played his debut match in Twenty20 format for Karnataka in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Devdutt, while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, won the Emerging Player of the season award. Devdutt ended his first IPL season with scoring 473 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 15 games. He was selected for the Karnataka team, which was competing for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021. Devdutt struck 101 runs not out on April 22, 2021, as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by ten wickets in the 2021 Indian Premier League.

Devdutt was selected in the Indian team for both the Twenty20 International (T20I) and One Day International (ODI) matches against Sri Lanka in June 2021. On July 28, 2021, he played in his first T20I match for India against Sri Lanka. He was sold to the Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 Indian Premier League auction in February for the 2022 season. Devdutt  made his first-ever first-class century against Puducherry in the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy in March 2022, with 178 runs. He achieved the milestone of 1,000 IPL runs in April 2022 while representing the Rajasthan Royals. Devdutt has played a total of 47 IPL matches in which he has scored 1262 runs. He is a class batsman, who has a lot of potential and is even capable of opening for team India.
