In the present Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan star Naseem Shah was seen mocking Azam Khan as the latter approached the crease to bat. On January 31, during a match between Khulna Tigers and Comilla Victorians, the left-handed seamer emulated Azam’s walking style in an attempt to body shame the stumper-batter. The 24-year-old was spotted pushing Naseem Shah just before the altercation because he was not in the mood for banter. However, the youthful pacer followed up with the impersonation, which enraged followers on Twitter. Some defended the young cricketer and attempted to justify his behaviour, but others pointed out that body shaming had no explanation.

After a high-scoring game, the Imrul Kayes-led side defeated Khulna Tigers by seven wickets. Batting first, the Tigers amassed 212 runs on the board, thanks to Tamim Iqbal’s 95-run performance off 61 deliveries. Batting at number three, skipper Shai Hope also produced an outstanding effort of 91* runs off 55 deliveries, allowing the Tigers to set a substantial total after the first innings.

Azam has been in great form

Comilla Victorians, who have been playing some fantastic cricket this season, easily chased down the total. Pakistan international Mohammad Rizwan got them off to a flying start, scoring 73 off 39 deliveries. Johnson Charles later joined the party and scored a blazing tonne, which transformed the game’s complexion. The 34-year-old hit 107 from 56 deliveries, earning him Player of the Match honours. Comilla Victorians have climbed up to third place in the points table, while Khulna Tigers are on the verge of being eliminated. With only four points from nine games, they are presently sixth in the league. Meanwhile, Twitter was not pleased with Naseem Shah’s gesture toward Azam Khan.

Azam Khan, a Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman, got his maiden T20 century in Match No.6 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) between Khulna Tigers and Chattogram Challengers at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Khan hit his century off 57 balls as the Tigers posted a respectable 178 for the cost of five wickets after being put in to bat first. Khan came to bat after Khulna lost critical wickets in the fourth over to Sharjeel Khan and Habibur Rahman Sohan. From there, Azam and Tamim Iqbal put up 92 runs for the third wicket, with Tamim scoring 40 runs off 37 balls before being caught by spinner Vijaykanth Viyaskanth.
