The brand new SA20 league kicks off on January 10 in South Africa, promising to revolutionise South African cricket and increase fan interest in the rainbow nation. MI Cape Town, Durban’s Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the six teams competing in the top-tier competition. The league will consist of 33 matches beginning on January 10, with MICT against Paarl Royals in Cape Town in the first game and the final on February 11. The franchisees will face off in a double round-robin style, with the top four clubs in the points table continuing to the semi-finals.

The SA20 has drawn some of the biggest stars in international cricket, including England’s Sam Curran and West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph. They will play with South African domestic cricketers in one of the most important stages of their careers. Tabraiz Shamsi has previously praised the league for providing players with exposure and opportunities, and as the tournament progresses, there is sure to be much more.
