WATCH: Haris Rauf's nasty bouncer results in a bloody affair

Bas de Leede got hit by a nasty bouncer bowled by the Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf below his eye. He was immediately taken to the hospital and was later seen in the dugout with a swollen eye.

The man in green defeated the Netherlands by six wickets in their must-win encounter at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Netherlands were restricted at 91/9 in the first innings of the match and Pakistan successfully chased the total in 13.5 overs to register their first win in the T20 World Cup. However, During the game, Netherlands’ start all-rounder, Bas de Leede got hit by a nasty bouncer bowled by the Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf below his eye. He was immediately taken to the hospital and was later seen in the dugout with a swollen eye. After the match got over, Haris Rauf made a sweet gesture to Netherland’s Bas De Leede.

“I was ready to walk back out there” – said De Leede to Rauf

In response, Rauf hugged him and wished him a speedy recovery. “Hope for your speedy recovery. Come back stronger. Hit some sixes,” Haris Rauf told De Leede and the two had a light-hearted laughter about it.

The start all-rounder was forced to retire hurt after taking a blow below his right eye which left a nasty cut. During his stay at the crease, De Leede was struggling to score fluently and had only six runs from the 16 balls that he faced. He tried to pull a Haris Rauf bouncer that jumped off a length and got big on him, he missed it ball completely which went onto hit the visor of his helmet. De Leede will miss the next game, where the Dutch will lock horns with Zimbabwe.
