Derbyshire will play against Lancashire in the opening game of the Vitality T20 Blast 2023. Edgbaston in Birmingham will host this most-awaited game which is a North Group match and both sides have a lot of exciting players on their side as well. However, Derbyshire had a good season last year when they won nine out of 14 matches and qualified for the knockout stages of the competition as well. They lost to Somerset in their quarter-final clash.
Leus du Plooy will lead Derbyshire Falcons in the Vitality T20 Blast 2023 as well. Alongside him, Haider Ali, Anuj Dal, and Wayne Madsen form a solid batting group as well. George Scrimshaw and Zaman Khan will also be leading the bowling attack and they are a side that can give a tough fight to any other team as well.
Lancashire, on the other hand, were the finalist of the Vitality T20 Blast 2022 as well. They played against Hampshire in the final and lost by one run as well. They will be trying to do well in this year’s T20 tournament. However, wicketkeeper-batter Dane Vilas will lead Lancashire in the upcoming season of the Vitality T20 Blast. The overseas players comprise Daryl Mitchell, and Colin de Grandhomme who provide a lot of experience this season as well.
The tournament won’t be seen on television. However, it will be live-streamed on Sony LIV.
