It is because of his association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL that has made him a special favorite among fans there. The M Chinnaswamy stadium might become even special for Virat Kohli in late February. The former India cricket team skipper is all set to play his 100th Test match during the series against Sri Lanka in February-March. India’s Awesome Record in Pink Ball Test

India have played a total of three Pink Ball Tests in their history. The first match was played in November 2019 against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens. It was the last time that Virat Kohli scored a century in any format. India’s next assignment with the Pink Ball was against Australia in Adelaide where they were bowled out for 36 in their second innings. When Virat Kohli led the team for the Pink Ball Test in Ahmedabad, England were bowled out for 112 and 81 in a Test that lasted just two days.

Prior to the Sri Lanka series, India will host the West Indies for three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals. The matches will be played in Ahmedabad and Kolkata. The matches in Ahmedabad will have no fans as India battles an Omicron wave. On the other hand, Kolkata will see a 75 percent attendance for the fans. The current India squad have been ravaged by the coronavirus, with Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Navdeep Saini and Shreyas Iyer testing positive.

Sri Lanka cricket have requested the BCCI to begin the tour with the three T20Is and then the Tests. Sri Lanka are embarking on a five-match Twenty20 International tour to Australia starting from February 11.
