The Men in Blue has had many ups and down but some of the batters have been consistent though out this year.
The year has almost come to an end and team India has witnessed some achievements and setbacks in the One Day International format. Some of the successes were defeating England in the ODI series during away tours and bagging victories in some of the bilateral series. The setbacks include the recent ODI series loss to Bangladesh. The Men in Blue has had many ups and down but some of the batters have been consistent though out this year. Shreyas Iyer has had a fantastic year in the ODIs for India. He surpassed Dhawan to become India’s leading ODI run-getter in 2022. The right-hand batter has scored 724 runs in 17 matches for India in 2022.
Shikar Dhawan has scored 688 runs in 22 matches and sits on the 2nd spot. Indian opener Shubman Gill is placed third with 638 runs in 12 ODIs for team India. Ishan Kishan raced past the entire list and stands in the 4th position with 417 runs after the double century in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh in the recently concluded ODI series. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who has been in poor form of late finds himself in the 5th position, the left-hand batter has scored 336 runs in 12 matches. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma don’t feature in the top 5 list of the most runs by an Indian batter in ODIs.
