The sixth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 has been taking place in six venues among 8 teams which started on June 23 (Thursday). So far 8 games have taken place out of 32 which will end on July 31, 2022, with the final. However, the 11th match of TNPL 2022 will be played between Lyca Kovai Kings and Salem Spartans at NPR College Ground in Dindigul on July 6, Wednesday. Both the teams have failed to win a single game so far in TNPL 2022 and they will try to open their account in the next game.
Lyka Kovai Kings last played against Madurai Panthers where the Panthers ended up winning as well. Panthers won the toss and opted to bowl first and bowlers did the job brilliantly, picking up early wickets. Suresh Kumar and U Mukilesh added a partnership for the fourth wicket before Kumar was out for 46. Mukilesh scored a half-century but the other batters failed to contribute much as the Kings were bundled out for 151. While chasing, the Panthers got off to a poor start, as they lost two wickets in the very first over. Arun Karthik and NS Chaturved then added 105 for the third wicket. Later, Jagatheesan Kousik remained unbeaten on 27 to guide his team to the finish line with one delivery to spare.

Salem Spartans last played against the Nellai Royal Kings where Nellai Royal Kings captain Baba Indrajith won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Spartans got off to a fantastic start with 54 runs in the powerplay, losing two wickets. R Kavin and Daryl Ferrario later steadied the ship but the fall of Kavin’s wicket in the 15th over led to a collapse. Kavin departed on 48 and they managed 149/7. Ferrario remained unbeaten on 60 off 49 balls. While chasing Laxmesha Suryaprakash (35), Baba Aparajith (32) and a brilliant cameo from G Ajitesh (48* off 25 balls) helped the team chase down the total in the 18th over as well.
