Babar Azam

Babar has looked out of sorts in the ICC T20 World Cup, he has managed to score just 39 runs in 5 innings. His highest score of 25 runs came against Bangladesh. Babar has failed against the swinging deliveries upfront. The right-hand batter has 4 scores below 10 runs in 5 matches, which is very poor, to say the least. It was shocking to see one of the most successful batters in T20 cricket having such a poor run on the biggest stage of world cricket. He still has a chance though, to redeem himself in the Semi-Finals against New Zealand.

David Warner

Warner came into the T20 World Cup with high expectations but failed miserably. He managed to score just 44 runs in this World Cup and was one of the biggest under-performers of the tournament. Warner found peculiar ways to get out. The 36-year-old opener got dismissed while playing a lofted cover drive off a delivery that did not turn against Sri Lanka and fell while playing a switch hit against Afghanistan. The Australian teams and supporters expected a much better performance, given the ample experience he has in this format. At his age, it is safe to say that he is not likely to play a prominent role for Australia in the shortest format of the game for too long.

Kagiso Rabada

Despite having favorable bowling conditions, Kagiso Rabada struggled to make an impact. Before the start of the T20 World Cup, he was considered a serious threat by a lot of experts on the Australian pitches but failed to stand up to the expectations. Among the 54 bowlers who bowled at least 10 overs in the Super 12 stage, Rabada’s economy rate of 9.43 was one of the worse in this T20 World Cup, to add to the misery right-arm pacer struggled for wickets, scalping only two at an average of 75.50 in the entire tournament.
