Lancashire will take on Essex in the third quarter-final of the T20 Blast 2022, which will be played at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on July 8, Friday. Lancashire finished second at the points table in the North Group with 18 points after winning 8 games. On the other hand, Essex finished third in the points table of the South Group with 19 points from 9 wins as well.

Lancashire last played against Warwickshire and won in their final league game where Luke Wells and Dane Vilas played key roles at Old Trafford. Lancashire chased down the target of 169 with three balls in hand. Philip Salt (33) and Luke Wells (26) also played quick cameos. Wells also claimed two wickets. Richard Gleeson and Tom Hartley also scalped a couple of wickets each. For Warwickshire, tearaway, Olly Stone picked up a four-wicket haul and Adam Hose top-scored with a 39-ball 50 as well but eventually lost by two wickets.

Quickfire fifties from Dan Lawrence and Paul Walter helped Essex register a huge 69-run win in the high-scoring game against Glamorgan. They added a 101-run stand for the fourth wicket in only 8.1 overs as they added 254 for 5 after being put in to bat. While chasing, Glamorgan was never in the game and lost three wickets within the first 14 balls, and were five down by the ninth over as well. Skipper Sam Northeast tried his best with an unbeaten 56-ball 97, and Daniel Douthwaite and Andrew Salterscored 62 and 54 runs respectively, but that wasn’t enough and they were restricted to 185 for 7 as well.

Indian viewers can live stream the T20 Blast 2022 on the Fan Code app. The ECB will again host live streams of every match on the ECB website and ECB app while Sky Sports is set to broadcast 19 matches throughout the group stage, with each county set to feature at least twice before the four quarter-finals and Finals Day. It will also be available via BBC Local Radio stations with extensive coverage also on 5 Live Sports Extra.
