Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder will lock horns in the 29th match of the ongoing Big Bash League at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The Scorchers are the defending champions and have been brilliant in tournamnet so far. They have won five of their six matches. They have gathered ten points under their belt and sitting at the top of the point table. Perth Scorchers won their last encounter against the Melbourne Renegades, they were asked to chase 156 runs in their 20 overs. The Scorchers, while chasing, lost five wickets and took 19.4 overs to reach the target and earn two points from it.

The Thunder are also having a great time in the tournament. They have won four of their seven matches and have eight points under their belt. The Sydney Thunder have won three consecutive matches and are currently in the second spot on the points table, they are coming into this game on the back of a brilliant performance against the Hobart Hurricanes. Batting first in the match, the Thunder put on a total of 228 runs on the board in their 20 overs. While defending the title, the Thunder bundled out their opposition for just 166 runs in 17 overs, winning the match by 62 runs. Daniel Sams will be missing out on the match because of a groin injury.

Perth Scorchers: Faf du Plessis has bee brilliant a the top of the order for Perth, Adam Lyth has supported him well. Perth has one of the strongest bowling units in the tournament, Aston Agar and Andre Tye have been in the wickets and will be a threat agasnt the Sydney Thunder as well.

Sydney Thunder: Alex Hales, Rilee Rossouw and Usman Qadir will be the players to watch out in today’s encounter, Hales hasn’t had the best of the tournamnet but he is coming into this tournament on the back of some brilliant performances in the ICC T20 World Cup, and he dew to get a big one. Usam Qadir has settled in brilliantly into the team and has become of of their go to bowlers.
