Pakistan and New Zealand locked horns on the 3rd day of the in the 1st test match at the National Stadium in Karachi. New Zealand are visiting Pakistan after a very long time and this promises to be an exciting series with both teams looking well matches. New Zealand have scripted a brilliant comeback back and are now ahead in the game at the end of day 3, New Zealand went on to dominate play on day three as well. Let’s have a look at some of the talking points of the day.
Starting the day at 165/0 with two overnight New Zealand added 18 runs before Nauman Ali broke this massive opening wicket partnership of 183, dismissing Conway eight short of his well-deserved hundred. On the other hand, Tom Latham continued his good work and notched up his 13th Test century and added 48 runs for the second wicket alongside Kane Williamson. Latham was dismissed on 113 off 191 in trying to play a reverse sweep off Abrar Ahmed just before the Lunch break.

Post lunch, Henry Nicholls was looking solid, before playing one back onto the stumps, Nicolls was dismissed on 22 by Nauman Ali. It was looking like a proper Test match cricket until Daryl Mitchell came to bat at number five, who smashed the ball to all parts of the ground and got 42 runs off 47 deliveries. He added 65 runs for the fourth wicket, along with Williamson. Mitchell was out playing a reverse sweep off Abrar Ahmed. Williamson survived a couple of stumping and got to a fantastic hundred, He was ably supported by Tom Blundell.
Pakistan came back into the game late on day 3, where they scalped two wickets in quick succession. Mohammad Wasim dismissed Blundell and then Abrar Ahmed sent Michael Bracewell back to the pavilion after getting just 5 runs. Kane Williamson and Ish Sodhi remained not out at the end of the day’s play. New Zealand will start day 4 at 440/6 with a small lead of 2 runs on the board.
