We are all set for the first T20I of the 5-match T20I series between these two well-matched sides. The first few games will be played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium, in Lahore. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are back in the team after taking a rest in the series against Afghanistan. Pakistan has plenty of players in form after the recently concluded PSL. Mohammad Haris and Iftikhar Ahmed will be crucial in the middle order, and the team has plenty of all-rounders as well. The likes of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan will be key with the ball for Pakistan. are back in the mix too and expect Pakistan to put up a strong performance.

On the other hand, New Zealand is coming into this series with a young team, as some of their players are in India, participating in the Indian Premier League. There are missing plenty of their superstars and it will be Tom Latham who will be leading them this time around. Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham will need to play a crucial role with their experience, it’s also a great opportunity for the likes of Mark Chapman and Henry Shipley to create an impact and cement their spot in the team. 5 T20Is will be played in the New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2023.

Pitch

The Pitch at the Gaddafi Stadium Stadium has been a belter over the years, the ball comes onto the bat very well and the batters enjoy batting at this venue. Stadium has a 170-run average score for the side batting first. This venue has produced plenty of high-scoring contests in the recently concluded PSL as well. The captain who wins the toss will look to chase the total down in the 2nd innings as there is always some dew expected at the venue.
