The much-awaited Pakistan Super League begins on 13 February and in the first match of the season, Multan Sultans will lock horns with the Lahore Qalandars. The 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League unfolds tomorrow at Multan Cricket Stadium. Lahore Qalandars emerged as the champions last season and will be hoping to start this season on a positive note with a win in the bag. The Sultans have the home advantage, but they are up against the defending champions and will come out all guns blazing. Both sides are equally matched, the players will be eager to go out and battle it out against each other in the mouth-watering tournament opener.
Mohammad Rizwan will lead the Multan Sultans which boasts of some big names like Rilee Rossouw, Tim David, Akeal Hosein, David Miller, Josh Little, Keiron Pollard, Adil Rashid, and Wayne Parnell are the overseas recruitments. Khushdil Shah, Shan Masood and Shahnawaz Dahani are local internationals in the Sultans’ squad. They also have quality young players, such as Usama Mir, Usman Khan, Izharulhaq Naveed, Anwar Ali, Ihsanullah, and Sameen Gul which makes this a very strong unit. Perhaps, the strongest spin attack in the tournament.

On the other hand, the Lahore Qalandars will be led by the star Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, they also have Haris Rauf in the team alongside the exciting talent Zaman Khan. Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, and Hussain Talat are the Pakistani players in the team, while the overseas unit comprises of spin wizard Rashid Khan, Sikandar Raza, David Wiese, Liam Dawson, Jordan Cox, Kusal Mendis and Sam Billings. Kamran Ghulam and Ahmed Daniyal are the notable domestic stars in the side, who have done exceeding well in the last couple of seasons for their team. The withdrawal of Harry Brook from the tournament might be a big setback for the Qalandars before the start of this competition, However, they have a very strong bench strength.
PSL will be telecasted live on the Sony Sports Network and will be live-streamed on the Sony Liv app. The toss will take place at 7:30 PM IST and the Match will start at 8:00 PM IST.
