The 27th match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 will see Melbourne Stars take on the Melbourne Renegades at the MCG in Melbourne, we are heading into the business end of the tournament and every point is crucial for both teams. The Melbourne Stars have had a season to forget, some of their senior players are missing from the side due to injuries and national commitments. The stars are in the 7th position with 2 wins from 6 games. However, they are coming into this game on the back of a brilliant 8-run victory against the Adelaide Strikers who have been one of the in-form teams in the tournament.

On the other hand, the Renegades had a dream start to their BBL 12 campaign, winning their first three games convincingly, but they have gone on to lose the next 4 games on the back of some poor performance. Skipper Nic Maddinson has led from the front. Former captain Aaron Finch has also stepped up, when the team required him. Akeal Hosein has been sensational with the ball in hand, while Tom Rogers has surprised everyone with his wicket-taking ability. Kane Richardson hasn’t been amongst the wickets but has been very economical.
