The selectors have chosen a young squad, which adds to the excitement of the series. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka did not do well in the T20 World Cup, but they might make amends in the series against India.

The much-changed Indian team includes first-time T20I call-ups for pace combination Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi, and the team also has Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, and Harshal Patel, among others. The two teams will meet at a site where they played in 2017 when India defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets.
