The Big Bash League 2022-23 season will run from December 13 until the final on February 4, Cricket Australia announced the schedule, which also included a 56-game regular season plus five finals match as well. The season will be hosted across 17 different venues which also include three new grounds — Albury, Cazalys Stadium in Cairns, and North Sydney Oval. The first game of this season has taken place between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars on December 13 at the Manuka Oval.
Meanwhile, defending champions Perth Scorchers, meanwhile, will begin their title defence on December 17 against Sydney Sixers as well. However, BBL 2022-23 will continue to be an eight-team T20 league which will see Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder, Brisbane Heat, and Sydney Sixers compete for the big trophy as well.
